Sketch to Revit walls, doors and windows

Pick a sketch or a photo of a plan in a floor plan view. The AI drafter draws it, and the add-in builds native Revit walls (matched to your wall types by thickness), places doors and windows from the families in your project, cuts the other openings, and imports the dimensioned CAD drawing with furniture and room labels into the view.

Install

Download the ZIP and unpack it (right-click → Properties → Unblock first if Windows marks it as downloaded).
Copy the PlanChat.Revit.bundle folder to %APPDATA%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins.
Start Revit and allow the add-in to load (“Always Load”). A “Plan Chat” ribbon tab appears.

Sign in

The first command opens your browser on the Plan Chat sign-in page. Sign in (email or Google), click “Continue”, and the app is signed in. One sign-in works for all Plan Chat plug-ins on the computer. No account yet? Create one in the studio.

What the drafter draws

A clean CAD floor plan, not a traced image: structural grid, walls with real thickness, doors with swings, windows, furniture and fixtures, dimension chains, room names and areas, a room schedule and a legend, on standard AIA layers. Every drawing stays in your account with all its versions, so you can change it by chat in the browser studio, see it in 3D, render it, and insert the new version again.

Questions

Does it create real Revit elements?

Yes: Wall elements on the active floor plan’s level (2.7 m high, using the basic wall type closest to each wall’s thickness), door and window family instances hosted in those walls, and wall openings for open passages. The CAD drawing with dimensions, furniture and labels is imported into the view as well, or on its own if you prefer.

Which door and window families does it use?

The first door and window families loaded in your project. Swap the types afterwards to your standard families; the instances stay hosted at the right positions.

Which Revit versions?

Revit 2022 to 2027 on Windows.

What does it cost?

The plug-in is free. Each drawing uses Plan Chat credits from your AI Architectures plan (a new drawing typically uses 700 to 1,800 credits); some new accounts get their first drawing free.
